                                                       In Paul's Own Words

I was born in small village in the outskirts of Ngong.  Am 15 years of age born in a family of ten as the fifth born.  Currently am in Brother Beausang Secondary school, situated in Embul-bul, Ngong, Kenya.

Through God’s grace I cleared my primary school in 2009.  I was to join my high school in year 2010 but I did not have the chance because my parents were not in a position to take me to school.  Through half of my life my elder sister and I have lived in children’s home because my parents are poor and had other five kids to take care of.  Later in February 2009 my father succumbed to death after suffering from long illness.  Since I was old enough to take care of myself, as they say back here, I looked for casual work in construction site and in farms where they needed casual laborers and pay you something small at the end of the day. With this I survived and what was left I sent that to my family.  After working for a year and still looking for someone to help me get back to school, I met with Willy, my friend, who used to live with me at the children's home.  I explained my case.  He told me to get back to him after a few days which he did and offered to buy my school uniform and a pair of shoes.  He was talking with well wishers to help me out.  Willy spoke with his adoptive mom, Lory Jacobs and by God’s grace they managed to get me to school.  My elder brother and sisters dropped out of school because my parents were not able to pay our school fees. My mom is small scale farmer in semi-arid part of rift valley in Kenya.

Thanks to the well wishers I was able to get on track again and for the said reasons I work hard in school with the hope that one day I will change the future of my family.  I thank Willy and his mom for giving yet another chance to get to school.  In the future I want to be a civil engineer to bring change to the Kenyan infrastructure.
I pledge this to everyone out there to support me to achieve the goal of being the savoir of my younger brothers and sisters’ future dreams.  Your contribution and support will be highly appreciated as this will have great impact on someone on the other side of the sphere.  Through my great determination and your support I know my dream is achievable.  Thank you in advance for listening to my voice.

Best Regards
Paul Miano Njina

Paul will need assistance for the next 3 years.  Although Paul lives in a small one room home with little light to study by, he is extremely dedicated to his studies and truly believes in the value of an education, which he has proved with stellar grades! Paul completed his first year of high school but funds are desperately needed for him to continue to his next grade when school begins in January 2012.  Please find it in your heart to take on this challenge this coming year!  If you cannot sponsor Paul today, please contribute to our Education Fund so that we may help him and others the best we can.
