THREE WEEKS IN KENYA!
$1485 per person
The trip to Kenya is a chance of a lifetime. You will have a great experience! Following is a brief itinerary of the trip. If you have any questions please contact Lory Jacobs. We really look forward to having you with us. Fill out the application. Upon acceptance a $150 non-refundable (transferable to program) deposit is required. Balance due 45 days prior to leaving on your volunteer adventure.
Sign up for the trip at least two to six months in advance.
Cost Covers: - Airport pick up and departure and in country transportation most days.
- Accommodations at guest house.
- Two meals daily.
- Three day all inclusive Safari to Maasi Mara National Park.
- To Nairobi for shopping at the Maasi Market + additional excursions.
- Daily volunteering opportunities at HFLW projects.
Responsibilities of Volunteers: Each volunteer will be responsible for making their own airline reservations/and paying for their own airline tickets/baggage. - Arrive one day prior to beginning of volunteer adventure. Most flights arrive at Jomo-Kenyatta airport. If you will be arriving earlier than one day before the volunteer adventure begins let me know as soon as possible and arrangements can be made for your accommodations at an extra cost. If you choose to stay longer than the three weeks please advise us, you will then be responsible for your own accommodations and transportation back to the airport.
Each volunteer is responsible for obtaining a passport and visa.- Passport must be up to date.
- Apply for a visa at least 3-4 weeks prior to leaving. Each volunteer is responsible for:- Any vaccinations/malaria medication necessary to travel to Kenya ~ check with your health provider at least one month to 6 weeks prior to leaving for Kenya. http://www.cdc.gov
- HFLW does not provide travel or personal health insurance but we can suggest where to purchase your volunteer insurance. Insurance is not mandatory but recommended. http://www.volunteercard.com
Keep in MindYou will need additional spending money, approximately $30 extra per week will pay for bottled water, Internet cafe to send and receive message from home, or matatu/bus or taxi if you choose to use your free time sightseeing on your own. If you want to bring home souvenirs by doing personal shopping you will have plenty of opportunities, so bring your extra spending money.
